Support = Survival

Dance Theatre of Ireland's Dance Performance Outreach Programme DANCE POP gets people dancing as well as seeing dance.

It offers performances and workshops by Dance Theatre of Ireland. Set up with assistance from the Ireland Funds, this highly successful and popular programme has had over 85,000 people participate to date.

The aims of DANCE POP are two-fold:

1. To give people of all ages an exhilarating experience in dance, through dance Workshops which emphasise dance as a fun, physical, expressive social activity. Dance Theatre of Ireland are creative, talented artists skilled as teachers and performers to give workshops which are tailored to each group and their interests and level of experience. Workshops are from 1 to 1 hours in length. Workshops can be one-off events or arranged to be multiple workshops culminating in an informal performance.

2. To provide opportunities for people to see dance performance in it's theatre setting (especially those who may not otherwise do so. ) To this end DANCE POP offers substantial group discounts for attending DTI performances in the theatre, followed by discussions with the performers. DANCE POP runs in conjunction with all Dance Theatre of Ireland Performances and Tours.

Dance POP is an Educational Outreach Programme available to any group of 10 or more--to

  • Schools,
